來自英國的另類創作新聲代 Holly Humberstone ，受到父親熱愛詩歌的影響，7歲開始嘗試創作，不段摸索自己的音樂風格，初次被大家聽見是她的單曲和，看似黑暗憂鬱的視覺卻配上細膩歌聲及動人的旋律歌詞，不但引起音樂界的迴響，這個反差魅力也讓大家對她留下深刻的印象，才剛出道不久就成為 2020 年的 Apple Music 「潛力之星」，後來在 2022 年又獲得全英音樂獎（BRIT Awards）「明日之星獎」，先前的獲獎者包含 Adele 、 Jessie J 、 Sam Smith...等大咖，可見 Holly Humberstone 在評審眼裡有著極高的評價也讓外界開始注意到這位創作新星。

2023 年 Holly Humberstone 發行了首張專輯《Paint My Bedroom Black》與好友兼製作人 Rob Milton 共同打造。這張專輯是 Holly 在巡演期間的空擋時寫的，在某個訪談裡她說道：「雖然不是故意這樣設計，但我認爲這張專輯可以分為我的兩個不同面向，一個是外向的我，想展現對家人朋友的愛和主動維持著更緊密的聯繫;另一個是內向的我，想把所有的一切都拒於門外，把自己關起來不想與任何人接觸。」

她也說發現自己很常在歌詞裡誇大其詞，事情其實根本沒這麼嚴重，或是常常寫完之後感到自我矛盾，但這所有的部分都是她，也讓她在寫完專輯之後又更認識了自己，這也難怪整張專輯的呈現會出乎她的意料。

心思細膩且對生活充滿想法的 Holly，整張專輯都瀰漫著一種憂鬱灰暗的感覺，除了一貫的使用合成器，也帶了點鄉村抒情，還有電子和大量的人聲效果器，這些似乎在她所有歌曲裡多少都能見到，但最主要的還是她那令人印象深刻帶點淡淡菸嗓的歌聲和她對於文字的敏感，總是讓人想再細細品味。
