觸及音樂、視覺藝術、詩歌、電影與攝影等領域，美國當前最具指標性的前衛藝術家Laurie Anderson，超過40年來，在全球許多小型藝術空間、大型音樂廳發表自己的作品。Laurie於1982年發表的處女秀 《Big Science》，榮登Slant雜誌「80年代最佳專輯」，同時贏取滾石雜誌、AllMusic、Blender、Pitchfork、Spin、Uncut、The Village Voice等傳媒驚艷給予近滿分高評，超過八分鐘的單曲〈O Superman〉曾打入全英排行榜亞軍。

Laurie推出睽違14年的全新作品《Amelia》，這張專輯以英年早逝的美國航空先驅、飛行員和女權運動者Amelia Earhart為藍圖，企圖為女權發聲，Laurie認為女性仍然存在著污名，同時女性在技術、政府領域所佔的比例仍舊少之又少，甚至很多事情正在倒退，比如墮胎權。歌曲邀請大型管弦樂團伴奏，選擇在Laurie覺得極富創意的法國進行混音，處理具有許多複雜元素的作品。

Nonesuch Records releases Laurie Anderson s Amelia, the 2024 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient s first new album since 2018s Grammy-winning Landfall. The record comprises 22 tracks about renowned female aviator Amelia Earhart s tragic last flight. Anderson, who Pitchfork says, "sees the future, but she starts by paying attention", wrote the music and lyrics for this subjective narrative piece. On the album, she is joined by the Czech orchestra Filharmonie Brno, conducted by Dennis Russell Davies, and Anohni, Gabriel Cabezas, Rob Moose, Ryan Kelly, Martha Mooke, Marc Ribot, Tony Scherr, Nadia Sirota, and Kenny Wolleson.
