當眾人還在猜想世紀末由The Libertines、The Strokes與Interpol等一眾青年才俊掀起的後龐克復興風潮，還能苟延殘喘至何年何月之際，2012年底，成軍短短一年的Palma Violets，便以處男單曲〈Best of Friends〉壓倒Blur、Grimes、Bat For Lashes、Jack White拿下NME年終榜最佳單曲，讓人不由得好奇這組倫敦青年幫，究竟有何能耐，讓宛如昨日黃花的復興風潮重振雄風。

雖然老是搬出古勝先賢為新人抬轎，或許太沉重也太矯情，但Palma Violets不僅粗獷不羈的車庫搖滾聲線，總令人聯想起The Libertines，就連Sam Fryer與Chilli Jesson共同擔綱創作與主唱的雙核心編制，更猶如Pete Doherty與Carl Barat這對前黃金搭檔的翻版。

然而，千萬別因此將Palma Violets視為冷飯熱炒的投機份子！邀來Steve Mackey（Pulp樂團Bass手）、Rory Attwell（The Vaccines、Yuck）聯手打造的首張專輯《180》，除了〈Best of Friends〉與〈Step Up for the Cool Cats〉隆隆鼓擊下暢快淋漓的龐克火力外，〈Last of The Summer Wine〉浪漫青蔥的吉他曲式，〈All the Garden Birds〉吉他與鍵盤巧妙的交纏，〈Three Stars〉抑鬱悠緩的英搖氣息，以至末段〈14〉八分鐘的迷幻長篇作品，皆將其吸取自Rough Trade同廠前輩The Libertines、The Strokes與The Smiths的經典養分無限延伸，絕非僅只是新一代The Libertines而已！
