Their 14th new album, "Ampersand," features co-producer Jin Yoshida (salon music), who they team up with for the first time in about 15 years since "PURPLE" on a full album. The result is a cool, moody sound that returns to the band roots, reminiscent of the early SCLL manner, updated with a sound image for the Reiwa era and beyond.
The three pre-released songs "ira", "lean forward" and "near you -z-mix" are placed at key points in the album. The contrast between stillness and movement in a minimalist sound, the catchy melody and delicate singing voice, etc., bring out the characteristics and strengths of SCLL sound to the fullest, and the production and mix by Yoshida Jin is a perfect match for this new dimension!
