任何的音樂類型在公認的經典之外，專注挖掘特定曲風的樂迷一定會有自己私心無可取代的經典作品，2004 年小白兔發行了一組日本樂團 Group 的首張專輯《Before Turning Off The Light》，直至今日，依舊是我們私心的日本後搖滾經典之一，想都沒想到他們在首張專輯之前的初試啼聲之作《Record》居然在 23 年後的今天被重發成黑膠了。
Group 有著三件式的搖滾配置加上小號與薩克斯風，他們不急不徐的即興、探索後搖滾與爵士音樂可以相互反應的任何地方，在兩首歌裡漫遊了 40 分鐘，樂器細膩的堆疊、交錯與循環，逐漸模糊了界線，創造了一片獨特、清新且明亮的純樸景緻，是一張可以調整呼吸到舒適狀態的作品。
時隔多年，讀著新版的專輯介紹時發現當時這張作品的錄音、混音師 Naoyuki Uchida 近年參與製作的是瘋狂的 GEZAN，與 Group 對比真的是太有趣了，不過他在任何一個地方都有著標誌性的 dub mix，也忍不住把 GEZAN 的《狂》拿出來聽，「嗯嗯嗯，是他是他。」
GROUP is an instrumental band consisting of trumpet, soprano saxophone, two guitars, bass, and drums. Their memorable first album "RECORD" was often discussed in the context of post-rock when it was released in 2001. This work, released as the third artist work on Weather, a label produced by Atsushi Sasaki of HEADZ, was recorded and mixed on analog at GO GO KING RECORDERS in Kawagoe by Naoyuki Uchida (LITTLE TEMPO, OKI DUB AINU BAND, GEZAN, etc.), who will also be working on the band next album "Before Turning Off The Light". The album consists of two songs, "Before" which is over 25 minutes long and "Then" which is just under 16 minutes long, filled with indescribable lyricism and tension. This masterpiece, which is also impressive for its miraculous sound that can almost be called a dub mix, is finally available on vinyl. This record is called "RECORD" by a group called GROUP.
